Calling Features & Instructions
With over 20 Calling Features to choose from, PRTC gives you the flexibiltiy to enhance your telephone experience.  Below is a list of Calling Features offered by PRTC.  Features and instructions are on page 13 - 16 of the July 2008 telephone directory.
  
Anonymous Call Rejection
 prevents calls from callers who block their number.
 To activate dial *77          To deactivate dial *87
 
Busy Call Forwarding
 Allows you to forward your calls to another number when your number is busy.  To activate dial *90 and wait for dial  
 tone.  Enter the number you want the calls forwarded to.  If there is no answer  hang up and repeat the above steps. 
 NOTE:  Any calls forwarded to a long distance number will have long distance  charges.    To deactivate dial *91.
   
Call Forwarding
 Allows you to forward all of your  calls to another number.  To activate dial *72, wait for dialtone and input forward to  
 number.  To deactivate dial *73.
 
Call Reminder
 Allows you to setup a call to your phone at a specified time. Works like a wake up call.  To activate dial *310, input
 the time you want your phone to ring, press # and follow the prompts.  NOTE:  Time must be input in military time. Ex:
 8:00a.m. will be 0800 and 2:30p.m. will be 1430.  To deactivate dial *311.

Call Return*
 Announces the last number that dialed you. To use CR dial *69 - to cancel CR dial *89.
 
Call Trace
 Allows you to trace obscene, threatening or harassing calls. NOTE: Customer must contact the appropriate law
 enforcement agency and the agency will have PRTC add this feature to the line.  Hangup from the harassing call, lift
 receiver and dial *57.  Please write down the date and time of the call and call the Business Office. 
 
Call Waiting
 You will hear a beep when someone calls and you are already on the phone.  Press hookswitch and release.
 
Cancel Call Waiting
 Allows you to turn Call Waiting off on a per-call basis.  Dial *70, you will get a dialtone, then dial the number.  Call
 Waiting is automatically turned on after the call is completed.
 
Caller ID*
 Displays the name and number of an incoming call.
 
Caller ID/Call Waiting
 Allows you to see the name and number of the calling party on a waiting call.
 
Calling Number Delivery Blocking
 Blocks your number from the person you are calling.  If you do not have permanent call blocking and you want to block
 your number, dial *67.  If you have permanent call blocking and want to unblock your number on a per call basis,
 dial *82.
 
Distinctive Ringing
 Allows you to program up to 10 numbers that ring with a distinctive tone when one of the  programmed numbers call
 you.  To activate dial *81 and follow the prompts.
 
Home Intercom
 Allows you to ring your own phone, in order to talk with someone in another part of the house,  using your phone line.
 Pick up the phone & dial your home number.  When you hear the busy tone, hangup.  Do not answer, when
 the phone stops ringing pick up your extension and you will be connected to the other party.
 
Last Call Erasure
 Lets you delete the last details of the last number that called you.  Dial *320 and follow the prompts.
 
Repeat Dialing
 Allows you to dial a code to have your phone attempt to redial a busy number that you have tried to call. When the line
 is free, your will be alerted with a special ring.   Dial *66
 
Selective Call Rejection
 Allows you to program up to 10 numbers that you don’t want to call you.  Dial *60 and follow the prompts.
 
Speed Calling
 Lets you store up to 50 numbers that can be dialed with one or two digits, instead of the entire number.  Dial *74, dial
 the code you want for that number, then dial the phone number you want for that code.  If it is a long
 distance #, you will need to put 1+ area code.
 
Teen Service
 Provides you with up to three additional numbers on a single line. Great for homes with teenagers. Can also be used with
 fax machines. Incoming calls to those numbers have a distinctive ring so that you can recognize calls to those numbers.
 
Three-Way Calling
 Allows you to talk with two parties at the same time.  To use press hookswitch to put original party on hold.  Listen for three burst of dial tone
 followed by a regular dial tone.  Dial the number of the third party, press the hookswitch to bring other party on line.
 
Toll Blocking (Long Distance Block)
 Blocks long distance calls being made from your phone, however, a prepaid calling card can be used to make   
 long distance calls.
 
Toll Control with Pin^
 Gives you the capability to make a long distance call by providing a code before the call is made.
       DCO instructions:   Dial *13, wait for dial tone, input four digit PIN, wait for 2-3 quick dial tones, dial
                                         the long distance number.
       Meta instructions:  Dial the long distance number, wait for 2-3 beeps, input four digit PIN.
 
Voice Mail^
 Works like an answering machine without the machine.    
      DCO instructions
      SetupDial 984-5774, when greeting starts press * and input your seven digit phone number, enter your
                   passcode.  Default passcode is 1234.  Follow the prompts.
      Retrieve Messages:  you will have a stutter dialtone when you have a message.  Dial 984-5774, when you hear  
                                             "Hello" enter your passcode and follow prompts.
      Retrieve Messages Away From Home: Dial your home number, when the greeting starts, press *, enter
                                                                              passcode when prompted
    
     Meta instructions:
     Setup:  Dial 984-4600 and follow the prompts.  Passcode is 1234 until you change it.
      Retrieve Messages:  Dial *88
      Retrieve Messages Away From Home:  Dial 984-4600, input your home number and then your passcode.
 
*Some numbers are not deliverable
^NOTE: Due to upgrades to switching equipment, some phone lines are in the DCO Switch and some are in the Meta Switch, therefore instructions for Toll Control w/Pin and Voice Mail are different for each switch.  Eventually all lines will be in the Meta Switch.  Please contact the Business Office to see which switch your phone line is in.
